    Barry larkin

When I used to watch baseball and actually care about the outcome, Barry Larkin was one of my favorites. With all the steroid alligations surrounding the criteria for entry, it is nice to see one of the good guys get elected. Even though the players entering the Hall next year is impressive, Barry is the only one I care about. Nice finish to an impressive career!!!

I do not see Eric Davis making it and Chris Sabo was just a hometown hero but they were fun to watch the year when they swept the supposedly "greatest team in baseball" Oakland A's. Reds had a good pitching staff that year especially that relief staff, the Nasty Boys. A's had a reliever...Dennis Ekersley (sp) and I could not stand him for some reason but the Reds hit their pitching staff all over the place. Paul O'Neil was on the Red's team also and still somehow the Reds did not get any respect and were predicted to be swept. To me, that was when baseball was fun to watch. Now there is just too many scandels and games last too long for me but I guess I have just gotten impatient with age. It's hard to imagine that I used to listen to Red's on Radio with Joe and Marty in the 70's and now I cannot even watch one inning of the World Series on tv.
